Mitali is a medical device and pharmaceutical executive with over 25 years of diverse experience spanning injectables, implantables, infusion and injection drug delivery devices. She has a successful track record of developing, industrializing and commercializing medical devices and combination products. Mitali is currently the VP and Global Head of the Medical Device Development unit at Sanofi. Prior to that she worked at companies such as Becton Dickinson, where she and her team were instrumental in developing and launching the first terminally sterilized prefilled syringe used for maintaining patency of VADs; as well as at Bristol Myers Squibb, where she established BMS’ device strategy, process, governance, quality system, and team structure to operationalize that strategy, leading to the launch of BMS’ first drug-device combination product. Mitali is a Biomedical Engineer by academic training, is six sigma green belt certified, and has several issued patents.

She is recognized for her work in medical device design, holding patents for innovations, authoring peer-reviewed publications, speaking at professional conferences, and contributing to chapters in both medical device and engineering textbooks. Jon Bloom, MD

Dr. Jon Bloom is a board-certified physician and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in technology development, patient monitoring, biomedical research, and health care delivery. He co-founded Podimetrics in 2011 while a student at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and he’s served as our CEO ever since. Dr. Bloom was first inspired to create a solution to help prevent diabetic amputations while practicing anesthesia; he frequently treated patients who required foot amputations and knew there had to be a less drastic way to prevent diabetic foot complications. He previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and staff anesthesiologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and as the Director of Global Medical Affairs for Covidien’s Respiratory and Monitoring Solutions division. Dr. Bloom has co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications with a primary focus on health care economics and perioperative complications. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Michael is the Vice President of Healthcare Economics and Reimbursement for AtriCure, a surgical medical device company focused on treatment of atrial fibrillation. Michael has responsibility for overall reimbursement, health economics, and market access strategy. Some of his groups work and collaboration with specialty societies has resulted in new CPT and MS-DRG payment codes. Prior to his role at AtriCure he held leadership positions at Boston Scientific, Philips Healthcare, and Medtronic.

She has worked on a myriad of medical technologies, with a focus in surgical innovations and digital health solutions. She holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MS in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University, where she previously taught Human Factors in Product Design. Mary Anne Heino has served as a Director since August 2015, and became the Chairperson of our Board, the Chairperson of the Finance and Strategy Committee and a member of the Science and Technology Committee on March 1, 2024. She previously served as our Chief Executive Officer, a position she held from August 2015 until March 1, 2024, as our President and Chief Executive Officer, a position she held from August 2015 until March 2023, as our Chief Operating Officer, a position she held from March 2015 until August 2015, and as our Chief Commercial Officer, a position she held from April 2013 (when she joined the Company) until March 2015. Ms. Heino brings more than 30 years of diverse pharmaceutical industry experience to the Board. Prior to joining Lantheus, Ms. Heino held executive level roles at Angelini Labopharm LLC and Labopharm USA from February 2007 to March 2012. From May 2000 until February 2007, Ms. Heino served in numerous capacities at Centocor, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson (“J&J”) company. Ms. Heino began her professional career with Janssen Pharmaceutica, another J&J company, in June 1989 and held increasing roles in Sales and Marketing through 1999. Ms. Heino received her Master in Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Brian Johnson was named president of the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC) in July 2018. An accomplished author, media entrepreneur, Brian serves as the association’s second chief executive officer in its history, managing its day-to-day operations and working with medical device industry executives in developing its policy agenda. Since its establishment in 1996, MassMEDIC has grown to 300 member companies – manufacturers and developers of medical products, suppliers, research institutions and academic health centers – and has advanced the public policy interests of the New England medical device sector on Capitol Hill, Beacon Hill, and before various federal agencies.
In 2007, Brian conceived and later launched MassDevice.com, where he been responsible for the strategic vision of the company, from inception through the summer of 2018, including leading the company through an acquisition in 2015 by WTWH Media.
As publisher, Brian spearheaded the growth of MassDevice from 0 to 100,000+ readers each month and led the company to profitability in just 3 years and more than $2.8M in annual sales. In 2011, Brian conceived and launched DeviceTalks, a live-interview series featuring leaders in medicine. The event, which is held three times annually in Boston, Minnesota and Orange County, California, has attracted thousands of medical device executives to date and featured leaders from some of the world’s largest medical technology companies. Since 2015, Brian also founded and launched two additional magazines, Medical Design & Outsourcing and Drug Delivery Business News, bringing total readership under his supervision to over 1.5 million.
Under Brian’s direction, MassDevice and its associated properties were widely recognized for its commitment to quality journalism. The editorial boards of the New York Times, NPR, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post have cited MassDevice’s coverage of issues pertaining to the medical device industry. He also served as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army, where he earned multiple distinctions including Airborne, Ranger, and Bronze Star as the lead navigator and Platoon Leader for the 24th Infantry division in Desert Storm. Michael received his B.S. in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Michael is passionate about supporting education, military veterans and causes for children. In 2012, Michael co-founded MedTechVets, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps military veterans discover career opportunities in MedTech. In 2015, he co-founded the Mike and Renee Minogue Foundation to support faith-based education and pediatric care through partnerships with the Catholic Schools Foundation, WonderFund, Boston Children’s Hospital, and multiple others.

As the first search firm to integrate media and talent access, Dragonfly was launched as a media production company, complete with a state-of-the-art studio, for use by clients and partners for attention and awareness. Rachel Robinson

A high-energy, connection-driven, non-profit executive, with a background in life sciences, technology and robotics engineering, Rachel joined MassMEDIC as Vice President in February 2020. During her tenure, the organization has tripled its headcount and increased its operating budget by more than 40%. Rachel joined the organization just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down all in-person events, and pivoted its in-person events strategy, launching a virtual events campaign to serve members and keep the medtech community connected.
Promoted to Chief Operating Officer of MassMEDIC in 2021, Rachel is responsible for executing the organization’s strategy, including cultivating community partnerships and employee development. She guides the direction and execution of the organizations programming and community collaborations, including Think Tanks on patient engagement, Working Groups around digital health, and she leads the MassMEDIC’s IGNITE Accelerator Program.
As President of MassMEDIC IGNITE, one of medtech’s most successful accelerators, it has been her honor to help women- and minority-led ventures, raise more than $100M in the past two years. Their goal, and hers, is to drastically improve how medicine is practiced and challenge the standard of care.
Rachel has spent the last 15 years in life sciences, primarily focusing on promotion of this important industry through business development and marketing. Through roles at Delve, Acorn Product Development and MPR, her skills have been centered on developing new strategic relationships, growing teams, and initiating thought leadership initiatives to drive awareness.

A seasoned professional. with over 30 years of pharmaceutical and medical device experience, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to the MassMedic Board. She began her career as a Toxicologist with companies such as Sterling Winthrop and Eli Lilly & Company. She later transitioned to focus on clinical research, holding various roles over the years, from CRA to VP. Most recently, Kate was the President and CEO of NeoSync, Inc., a clinical stage company, developing novel non-invasive neuromodulation devices in the CNS space. Prior to that, she held the position of Vice President, Global Medical Affairs with Covidien’s Peripheral Vascular Division. She has extensive experience in product development and new product launches, most notably through her time at Covidien and Eli Lilly & Company.
