Nathan Netravali, PhD
Dr. Nathan Netravali currently heads Smith + Nephew’s AI Center of Excellence for R&D as well as their Advanced Modeling Development teams. He is responsible for driving innovation and research to enable Smith + Nephew’s product portfolio for orthopedics, sports medicine, and wound care through the integration of AI and computational simulation. He has over 10 years of experience working in medical devices with a specific focus on incorporating robotics and technology to enhance patients’ lives.
Nathan received his BS in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He has published 10 manuscripts, 3 book chapters, and roughly 30 conference presentations along with over 10 patents granted to date. In his spare time, Nate likes to cook, play soccer, and spend time with his wife and 2 kids.
