Kate Haranis
A public relations expert known for making the hard parts easier, Kate Haranis has successfully earned thousands of meaningful media placements, ghostwritten hundreds of bylines and speeches, and trained dozens of senior and rising executives in effective, authentic storytelling. After nearly two decades building effective, action-oriented communications in Fortune 500, nonprofit and agency roles, Kate founded Haranis & Company help clients with life-changing businesses accelerate innovation through powerful communication.
From her start at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to her most recent role leading corporate PR at Boston Scientific, Kate shines when crafting stories that move audiences past awareness to inspire action.
Kate’s experience spans nonprofit development, independent PR agencies and in-house corporate communications. Put another way, years offundraising, media relations and businessdevelopment didn’t just teach her to redirect rejection—they honed her ability to move stakeholders to yes.
Kate’s advocacy and philanthropic experience includes serving on the executive board of the Children’s Trust of Massachusetts and past leadership roles with the Environmental Business Council and Junior League of Massachusetts. She has also served as professional mentor to the Public Relations Student Society of America Emerson College chapter, and enjoyed additional engagements with 826 Boston, the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and The Home for Little Wanderers. She received her Bachelor of Science in political communication, magna cum laude, from Emerson College.
When Kate isn’t working, having family dance parties, or connecting with friends, she’s probably headed to or from Pilates.
