Colleen Riley

Colleen Riley is a healthcare executive and innovative leader with over 25 years of experience. Dr. Riley’s medical device expertise sits at the intersection of clinical and technical product development and Fortune 500 corporate leadership. Most recently as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at embecta (NASDAQ: EMBC), the team successfully spun-off the Diabetes Care business from Becton Dickinson, establishing a stand-alone company that continues to provide life-saving insulin injection devices to over 30 million people worldwide. 

Previously, Dr. Riley was the Senior Vice President of Innovation and Development for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies. Under her leadership she advanced both existing and new product platforms beyond traditional scope of medical devices and therapy manufacturing to include services, software, and data management.  Her career includes pivotal leadership roles at Stryker Orthopaedics, Novartis AG and Johnson & Johnson where she drove innovation, advanced product portfolios including robotics and 3D printing and led digital transformations. 

Colleen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, a Master of Science in Physiological Optics and an OD, Doctor of Optometry, degree from Indiana University.
